Here are some recommendations for online material that will further your knowledge of Orthodox Christian faith and practice:

  • The Orthodox Church in America (OCA) - this is our parent jurisdiction. The OCA traces its origins to the arrival in Kodiak, Alaska of eight Orthodox missionaries from the Valaamo Monastery in the northern Karelia region of Russia in 1794. Today, the Orthodox Church in America includes some 700 parishes, missions, communities, monasteries, and institutions throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

  • The 16-chapter “Essential Orthodox Christian Beliefs: A Manual for Adult Instruction,” is now available for free download. A cooperative effort of the Departments of the OCA, the groundbreaking work offers inquirers and the faithful an introduction to the truths of the Orthodox Christian Faith.

  • A great introductory website with questions answered by Orthodox clergy.

  • An online catechism adapted from "The Mystery of Faith.”

  • The series The Orthodox Faith is intended to provide basic, comprehensive information on the faith and the life of the Orthodox Church for the average reader. The author is Fr. Thomas Hopko, of blessed memory, former Dean of St. Vladimir's Seminary, Crestwood, NY.
