Bishop Mark is to visit Holy Cross Orthodox Church!

Bishop Mark

We have received word that His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah will not be able to come this weekend and has asked Bishop Mark, the administrator of the Diocese of the South, to come in his stead. Bishop Mark has graciously agreed to give the talk on Friday evening and the Pre-Lenten Retreat on Saturday, and all activities planned for this weekend will continue on their previous schedule.

His Grace, Bishop Mark was consecrated to the holy Episcopacy on December 5, 2004. His consecrating Bishops included His Beatitude Ignatius IV at the Patriarchal Cathedral in Damascus, Syria. He was enthroned at St. George Cathedral in Toledo, Ohio on August 25, 2005, and served as Bishop of the Diocese of Toledo and the Midwest.

His Grace, Bishop Mark will be giving a public lecture on February 25 at New Garden Friends Meeting in Greensboro to the ecumenical community along with a short concert from our own Holy Cross choir. On Saturday we will be hosting a Pre-Lenten Retreat with His Grace from 2 - 5pm. On Sunday Bishop Mark will preside at the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy and will be ordaining Subdeacon George Hattle to the Holy Diaconate and making Jim Abraham a Subdeacon. This will be followed by a formal luncheon banquet at St. George Greek Orthodox Church hall in High Point. Here is the schedule:
